When Sam begins to investigate the uncanny happenings, she gets a whole lot more than she bargained for.Ī House With Good Bones is gothic horror lite with all the Southern charm and an endearing main character, Sam, which is not something I often find in the MCs of my horror picks.Įven though the book clocks at just a little over 200 pages, the story packed a punch and everyone in our buddy read who listened to the audio agreed that the narrator was delightful! This is my first TK book and now I can’t wait to read her backlist. And on top of it, she finds a jar of human teeth hidden under the roses.

But what really bothers Sam as an archaeoentomologist (someone who studies insects in archaeological remains), is that her mother’s garden contains no insects at all. However she begins to notice that a lot has changed starting from the whole interior being repainted in a color her mother would have normally scoffed at, to vultures circling around their house.
